Jet Pipe Industries Co., a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, is a full line distributor and fabricator of fire protection systems located in Phoenix, AZ. We are currently seeking Welder Associates to join our team. The Welder Associate is part of a pipe welding assembly line working with various welding machines and equipment. A successful candidate will be familiar with most areas of welding including stick, mig, wire, air arc, track work and plasma in order to weld together structural metal parts to piping according to layout specifications.

Responsibilities:

Operates, preps, and sets various welding machines which includes Robot, NAP, and Cypress

Operates welding equipment for end prep of pipe using techniques such as Stick, Mig, Wire, Air Arc, Trackwork, and Plasma

Works on will-call orders to layout specifications

Handles pipes and materials weighing up to 50 lbs; at times lifting repetitively and/or shuffling materials down an assembly line onto a layout table, welding stand, or cart/dolly

Performs air pressure test and visual inspections on welded piping to assure quality products

Uses basic reading and writing skills to interpret layout plans and labels

Works in a warehouse environment in hot and cold weather conditions, and with exposure to sparks and glares

Adheres to all Company safety policies and OSHA standards

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Ability to work Monday-Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

High School Diploma or equivalent

Must have at least one (1) year of basic welding experience

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Ability to lift 20 – 50 lbs on a continuous basis

Ability to work in hot and cold weather conditions, and be exposed to sparks and glares

Basic reading and writing skills for reading layout plans, labels, tape measure, and machinery gauges

Ability to safely and effectively perform the essential functions of the job

Preferred Experience (but not required):

Bilingual: English/Spanish
