Department/District/Project Description

Kiewit Business Services (KBS) is a cross-functional shared service organization that provides the business units with customer-specific services focused on cost and business value. Our services include non-core, yet essential, functions of our businesses including accounts payable, accounts receivable, change control, human capital management, payroll, project initiation, compliance and continuous improvement.

The Strategic Reporting and Analysis Team is responsible for capturing, assessing, and publishing critical data points that reflect the successes and opportunities in our operations. This group is part of the Organizational Services area of KBS.

Position Description

The Strategic Reporting Analyst utilizes Kiewit tools and technology to analyze actual performance versus stated goals in the following areas: Employee/Personnel Statistics, Cost/Budget Forecasting, Actuals, Trending, Customer Service, and Key Performance Indicators. Ultimately, the analysis of the key areas leads to development of action plans to enhance and improve the business model for KBS and the performance of our teams relative to the customers supported.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and accurate reporting and analytical support for financial, operational, and management metrics

  • Design reporting solutions for KBS encompassing cost, speed, quality, and customer satisfaction

  • Review, draw conclusions, and provide synopsis on metrics to key stakeholders

  • Research and develop key performance indicators commonly used across shared services

  • Provide analytical services to KBS Leadership and Kiewit Departments

  • Utilize Tableau or other analytic software

  • Develop and maintain a network with all levels of the company management

  • Proactively support Kiewit’s and KBS’ goals and strategies

  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external Kiewit departments; understands Kiewit’s core business and promotes a sense of urgency toward business critical issues

  • Reliable and consistent attendance

Secondary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support and participate in collaboration activities to promote and implement continuous process improvement

  • Perform other job related tasks as needed or assigned

Required Qualifications

  • SAP Payroll Experience

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills; ability to use logic and reasoning to analyze and identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze data and recognize discrepancies

  • Excellent customer service and collaboration skills; ability to connect and build relationships with others inside and outside the organization and develop highly effective teams and alliances

  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish daily work and projects

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; clearly conveys messages and ideas, gains understanding; generates interest and holds attention, listens and is open to the ideas of others

Preferred Qualifications

  • Spinifex Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field

  • Prior work experience in a Shared Service Environment

  • Report writing or design experience

  • SAP Payroll Experience

Shared Service Center – Professional office setting

Physical Requirements

  • Travel as needed

  • Lifting, sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, etc.

  • Reading from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources
