Kiewit Business Services (KBS) is a cross-functional shared service organization that provides the business units with customer-specific services focused on cost and business value. Our services include non-core, yet essential, functions of our businesses including accounts payable, accounts receivable, change control, human capital management, payroll, project initiation, compliance and continuous improvement.
The Union Benefit Lead position is part of the Kiewit Business Services Payroll Reporting department within the Payroll group.
The Union Benefit Lead oversees the union benefit payment process to ensure timeliness and accuracy of all US and Canadian payments.
- Payroll Reporting Supervisor
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
Audit union benefit payments, supplemental payments and mailings
Communicate outstanding payments to Specialists
Monitor and update Payment Release Schedule
Support the Payroll Reporting Specialists which will include training, mentoring, quality control, productivity and providing guidance with troubleshooting and problem solving
Provide feedback to Manager and Supervisor; assist in performance reviews
Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external departments; understand Kiewit’s core business and promote a sense of urgency toward business critical issues
Collaborate with co-workers, internal and external Kiewit departments to promote continuous improvement and process excellence
Monitor procedures and workflows for process improvement; ensure that the team follows processes, procedures and internal controls
Manage assigned cases in Service Now

Support and participate in collaboration activities to promote and implement continuous process improvement
Perform other work related tasks as needed or assigned
Three (3) years of professional business experience; minimum one (1) year of general Accounting or Payroll experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Working knowledge of computers and experience in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
Leadership skills including relationship building, coaching, collaboration, team-building, problem solving and decision-making
Strong oral and written communication skills; clearly conveys messages and ideas, gains understanding; generates interest and holds attention, listens and is open to the ideas of others
Highly motivated and self-directed; initiative and a sense of urgency to get things done
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Attention to detail with ability to recognize discrepancies and thoroughness in completing work tasks

Prior SAP experience
Union contract experience
College degree in business or related field
Shared Service Center – Professional office setting
Travel as needed
Lifting, sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, etc.
Reading from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources.
