We are looking for a smart, organized and experienced coordinator to join our Corporate Communication team at Kiewit in Omaha, Nebraska. You will work closely with the director of External Affairs to support the company’s charitable, community and government affairs efforts and with others in the department on a range of external and internal communication projects to help have a big impact at a construction and engineering industry leader.

Location

This position is based out of our Kiewit Plaza in Omaha, NE. This is a corporate office in a professional office setting.

Responsibilities

• Be a self-starter who is driven to meet deadlines and nail the details

• Make a difference at a great company with a super long track record of success

• Capably handle important administrative and various day-to-day functions for the company’s charitable giving, community relations and government affairs

• Know how to keep things straight, starting with being an exceptional organizer

• Help make sure we’re measuring and tracking what we do and spend, including watching over budgets and preparing reports for team and company use

• Write and edit really well and grab people’s attention through targeted, thoughtful messaging

• Be driven to grow and take on more responsibilities

• Support Corporate Communication across the board, from public relations, employee communications and marketing, to creative, online and video communication

• Have fun with good people and bring some positive energy to work every day

Qualifications

• Prior administrative support experience

• A bachelor's or associate’s degree related to the role (Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, Business, etc.)

• To walk the talk in Microsoft Office and have familiarity with Flow, Planner, Excel and related programs

• Strong writing, editing and messaging skills (examples will be good)

• An ability to work with people at all levels of the organization

• A mindset that is all about learning, improving and growing in your role

• To hit all deadlines and deliver results – it’s about outcomes, not output

• Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational skills

• To maintain strict confidence of important, sensitive information and materials

• To be an energetic team player

• Experience with not-for-profit organization(s) and/or corporate charitable giving is strongly preferred

• Prior administrative support experience and know-how in a corporate or agency setting preferred

• Political, government affairs experience preferred

• Employee communication experience preferred

• Public relations or marketing experience preferred

• Design experience preferred

• Simple accounting experience helpful
