As a Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining company compliance in the areas of DOT and I-9. This includes creating, maintaining, and updating Kiewit’s driver files within the Driver Qualification File (DQF) system, helping to ensure I-9’s are completed accurately and timely in the GuardianI-9 system, performing E-verify actions, assisting with the re-verification and TNC processes, assisting in training sessions with field locations, and performing excellent customer service.

Kiewit Business Services (KBS) is a cross-functional shared service organization that provides the business units with customer-specific services focused on cost and business value. Our services include non-core, yet essential, functions of our businesses including accounts payable, accounts receivable, change control, human capital management, payroll, project initiation, compliance and continuous improvement.
This position is based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting.
Act as a liaison between a variety of different KBS teams and field personnel to effectively and efficiently support the driver qualification and I-9 systems
Maintain driver qualification files accurately and timely
Manage expiring documentation in accordance with the FMCSA regulations and requirements
Assist in the DOT Drug and Alcohol program in accordance to the FMCSA regulations and Kiewit’s corporate policies
Maintain employee access in the DQM and Guardian Systems
Training of field personnel as needed on driver and I-9 systems
Assisting the project locations with the timely completion of I-9’s via the electronic system
Reviewing manual I-9s for accuracy and working with project locations with corrections, if needed
Performing E-verify, re-verification and TNC processes
Strict adherence to regulations provided by the DOT and DHS
Focus and priority of maintaining Company compliance in the areas of DOT and I-9
Communicate and collaborate with team members to achieve department goals and provide outstanding support to all areas of the Kiewit organization
Provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers; understand Kiewit’s core business and promote a sense of urgency toward business critical issues
Performing internal audits of driver files or I-9’s as needed
Reliable and consistent attendance
Support and participate in collaboration activities to promote and implement continuous process improvement
Perform other job related tasks as needed or assigned

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Ability to read from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources
Must hold valid US Passport (if traveling to Canada)
Ability to work a shift from Monday-Friday, 9AM-6PM
Experience in DOT, FMCSA regulations preferred
Experience in the assistance of completion of I-9s, knowledge of DHS guidelines preferred
College degree in Business, HR, or related field preferred
