We are looking for a Proposal Writer/Coordinator with a strong writing background who can integrate with our team and write/manage proposals for some of the most challenging civil infrastructure projects along the East Coast. In this role you will support Kiewit’s technical and managerial staff in the development of effective written qualifications, proposals and other marketing collateral. This position demands a strong work ethic, initiative, and commitment to quality as you continue to learn the ins and outs of building large infrastructure projects (highway, dams, roadways, bridges, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Analyze and coordinate responses to Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)

• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and others to secure information for various writing assignments

• Outline, write, edit and organize proposal documents

• Coordinate with graphic designers to create proposal templates and infographics, such as tables, charts, maps, etc.

• Make accurate and timely edits and revisions to documents after reviews, and adjust schedules and plans as required

• Assist with managing the proposal process for projects valued at more than $100 million, including pre-RFP planning/coordination, pursuit team organization, schedule management and leading document reviews

• Assist in total production and delivery of proposals

• Aid in creation of collateral materials for the district (e.g., newsletters, brochures, award submittals, etc.)

• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time

• Willingness to work outside normal business hours when a deadline approaches

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, English, Communications, or related field

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field

• Significant writing experience is a must, and proposal management experience is preferred.

• Candidates must have advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat

• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and formatting skills including proposal quality control reviews

• Ability to keep track of the “big picture,” but also maintain focus on the details to ensure quality

• Experience or working knowledge with Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop

• Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative

• Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time

• Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity

• Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

• Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives

• Able to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
