Position Overview:

Kiewit Building Group is looking for an experienced Scheduler to join the team in support of vertical/commercial construction projects across the US.

This position will be based out of Kiewit Building Group’s office in either Omaha, NE or Englewood, CO (Denver). You must be willing to travel/relocate as business needs arise.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare progress reports for each assigned project

• Read and interpret construction drawings, job specifications and contracts

• Identify and report on variations in the schedule in a timely manner

• Lead project teams through proper setup and maintenance of schedules

• Evaluate project risk using the Earned Value Management system.

• Resource and cost load the construction CPM schedule

• Maintain careful documentation of all schedule submittals so that any requests for time adjustments can be accurately measured

• Following contract requirements and Industry best practice incorporate and track in the CMP schedule changes, contract amendments and weather Identify potential manpower, resource utilization, or cash position issues; communicate issues to project team Assist in bid schedule creation per client requirements

• Lead the development of baseline CPM construction schedules

• Update schedules monthly and develop what-if schedules

• Perform or assist with forward looking Time Impact Analysis following contract requirements or industry recommended practices

• Coordinate and assist in the development of project schedule narratives

• Assess impacts to the critical path and near critical path

• Provide schedule metric analysis

• Communicates findings to project team, district scheduling manager, or contract administrator

• Walk and review work on the jobsite

• Interface with clients, owners and representatives


• Understands CPM scheduling and familiar with earned value analysis

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field

• Minimum of ten years’ experience in the construction industry

• Proficient in developing and analyzing schedules in Primavera P6

• Minimum of five years’ experience with the primary responsibility actively running a project schedule for large and small scale construction projects utilizing Primavera P6 is required

• Open to change and new information, able to adapt to changing conditions or unexpected obstacles

• Strong attention to detail; ability to recognize discrepancies

• Basic legal principles as they relate to scheduling

• Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Suite and Primavera P6

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong work ethic with the ability to work individually and as a team

• Committed to working safe and getting the job done right the first time

• Ability to travel and relocate is required

• PSP, PMP or comparable certification is a benefit

• Experience working on US Army Corps of Engineers projects is a benefit
