Position Overview

We are looking to add a highly skilled Executive Recruiter to our Talent Acquisition & Attraction team. Someone with 10+ years of recruiting experience, preferably in the construction & engineering industry. In this role, you will help ensure the delivery of our most valuable asset: people, and have a direct impact on our bottom line. As an Executive Recruiter, you will support our business goals by building and maintaining relationships with Company Leadership, and engaging and attracting highly experienced talent for some of our most senior-level, hardest-to-fill positions. This is your opportunity to take direct ownership for successful customer relationships and guide hiring for various business groups across the Kiewit Organization, while fostering a positive experience for your candidates, customers, and teammates.

Department Overview

Our Talent Acquisition & Attraction team is part of Kiewit HR Operations, which has grown to be an integral partner and service prover for the business. In recent years, we have gone from decentralized HR groups to a unified, shared service team, where Recruiting is one of many HR Centers of Excellence. Our vision is to be a best-in-class international HR organization.


This position can be based out of our Kiewit offices in either Houston, TX, Denver, CO, or Lenexa, KS, and involves overnight travel throughout the United States and Canada up to 25% of the time.


Source and recruit for some of our most senior-level, hardest-to-fill positions across the United States and Canada

Gain broad knowledge of our business to ensure best-fit talent

Execute the recruiting process from position request through offer negotiation & acceptance, while effectively utilizing our systems and tools

Conduct in-depth intake meetings with the business to develop a deep understanding of their needs and ensure alignment on position impact and expectations, while providing market insights and education

Develop and execute effective sourcing strategies, partnering with other Talent Advisors as needed

Source, recruit, and screen qualified and diverse candidate pools through cold-calling, referrals, networking, candidate databases, and new lead generation

Conduct comprehensive, confidential interviews via phone, in-person, and/or WebEx to assess candidate quality, skills, and fit

Manage the candidate experience, supporting long term recruiting efforts and cultivating a broad pipeline of high potential candidates

Work with hiring managers and business partners on requisition approvals, job postings, gathering feedback, ensuring timely interviews, and fostering positive candidate and customer experiences throughout the process

Effectively navigate objections from hiring managers and candidates, and influence hiring decisions by providing value-added advice

Effectively utilize technology to drive accurate candidate records, recruiting activities, and reports

Connect external employment market conditions with the internal workforce demands to ensure proper pipelines of talent are identified early to fill critical business needs

Actively participate in professional associations and societies to expand and diversify our candidate pool

Utilize metrics to drive business solutions, add value, raise candidate quality, and decrease costs


10+ years’ experience recruiting in a fast-paced environment, including recruitment for senior/executive-level positions

Ability to travel overnight throughout the US and Canada up to 25% of the time

Experience recruiting in the construction & engineering industry preferred

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and applicant tracking systems, preferably SAP SuccessFactors

Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative

Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time

Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately

Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives

Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
