Job Summary

This individual will utilize a variety of software such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Bentley Inroads and other technical software, and will rely on his/her experience to produce a variety of innovative and exciting engineering and land development project deliverables throughout the Western Canada Region.


• Participating in conceptual, preliminary and detailed design projects;

• Preparing engineering drawings for road construction projects using AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation Inroads, and Trimble Business Center;

• Preparing detailed plan and profile, grading, cross-section and underground infrastructure drawings for roadways;

• 3D construction phasing/staging plans;

• Preparing presentation drawings and report figures;

• Development of 3D machine control files utilizing Trimble Business Center

• Coordinating project drawings with project managers, engineers, and technical staff;

• Development and completing of job quantity calculations;

• Assisting in the production of project deliverables, such engineering documents (reports, specifications and proposals), display boards, and drawing submission packages;

• Assisting engineers with design and quantity analyses; clash detection, work planning, and survey/machine control;

• Assisting in proposal preparation for such public-sector transportation engineering projects, design optimization and value engineering proposals;


• Preparing engineering drawings for road construction projects using AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation Inroads, and Trimble Business Center;

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in heavy civil construction environments

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Microstation, Civil3D and/or Bentley Inroads software, is essential;

• Knowledge and experience with Trimble Business Center, Sycnhro 4D schedule simulation and/or other CAD/Mapping/GIS software is also an asset;

• Field Survey experience an asset;

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel;

• Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments;

• Attention to detail and excellent communication skills (verbal and written);

• Ability to work independently and also within a busy, high-performing, deadline;

• Must be willing to travel and/or relocate for work as needed;
