Department/District/Project Description

Kiewit Business Services (KBS) is a cross-functional shared service organization that provides the business units with customer-specific services focused on cost and business value. Our services include non-core, yet essential, functions of our businesses including accounts payable, accounts receivable, change control, human capital management, payroll, project initiation, compliance and continuous improvement.

AP Subcontract Compliance is part of the Accounts Payable department within the Financial Services area of KBS.

Position Description

The AP Subcontract Compliance Lead is responsible for overseeing the review of subcontract documents for compliance with legal and corporate requirements and for providing subcontract support to internal and external customers utilizing Service Now software.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Specialists which will include training, mentoring, quality control, productivity and providing guidance with troubleshooting and problem solving

  • Review the work of Specialists to promote accuracy and excellent customer support; monitor team workloads and assist and backup as necessary

  • Research quality or compliance issues and recommend changes for improvements

  • Understand and monitor compliance with legal and corporate requirements in association with Kiewit’s subcontract agreements

  • Follow established processes and procedures to communicate exceptions; collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve issues in a timely manner

  • Research quality or compliance issues and recommend changes for improvements

  • Manage and address cases related to Subcontracts utilizing the Service Now system

  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers; understand Kiewit’s core business and promote a sense of urgency toward business critical issues

  • Assist team with responding to internal and external customer questions and concerns

  • Subject matter expert for subcontract compliance; thorough understanding of legal and corporate requirements and the procedures for mitigating risk

  • Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement; collaborate with internal and external partners to increase efficiencies

  • Reliable and consistent attendance

  • Support and participate in collaboration activities to promote and implement continuous process improvement

  • Perform other work related tasks as needed or assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of professional business experience

  • Working knowledge of computers and accounting systems

  • Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to develop specific goals for the team and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish daily work and projects

  • Highly motivated and self-directed; initiative and a sense of urgency to get things done

  • Leadership skills including relationship building, coaching, collaboration, team-building, problem solving and decision-making

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly convey messages and ideas, gain understanding; generate interest and hold attention, listens and is open to the ideas of others

  • Ability to think analytically and apply a process of problem identification, solution development, and implementation

  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and minimal supervision in a fast paced, high volume environment

  • Excellent customer service and collaboration skills

  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel while simultaneously managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of SAP Accounts Payable experience

  • College degree in business or related field

Physical Requirements

  • Travel as needed

  • Lifting, sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, etc.

  • Reading from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources
