This position plans layouts of pipe systems using blueprints or drawings. It involves the installation, testing, repair, inspection and maintenance of a variety of sprinkler and clean agent fire suppression systems. This is done by measuring, cutting, bending and joining pipe by welding, brazing, caulking, soldiering, gluing or threading joints of pipe or tubing made of lead, copper, and plastic. Installs connectors, fittings and joints. Troubleshoots, tests, and calibrates hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Must possess the ability to read plans, and operate necessary computer systems. Must possess good communication skills and possess the ability to work with others. Must be able to physically perform the requirements of the position. Travel is required. Must be able to provide own transportation to and from work site. Must pass a drug test and physical.
