The Central District conducts its operations primarily through Kiewit Western Co, Kiewit Southern Co. and Kiewit New Mexico, all subsidiaries of Kiewit Corporation. Responsibilities
Relocation is required at the completion of each project. Relocation assistance will be provided. The Engineering Technician will support construction operations as follows:
1) Help in office primarily and field secondarily where needed
2) Fully utilizing equipment, software and survey systems in performing project surveying programs
3) Reading and understanding construction drawings to be used in converting owner drawings into survey drawings for layout purposes
4) Perform quality control, quantity tracking, and scheduling
5) Know and understand all aspects of the project specifications and tolerances
6) Strong research skills
7) Must have knowledge of all current survey related instrumentation, including robotic instruments and GPS systems
8) Familiarity with Bentley Microstation/Inroads, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software is required
9) Be able to produce digital surfaces, manipulate point data and produce profiles
10) Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required (the Survey Tech position will be located in Missouri)
1. Be familiar with Trimble Data Manager software, the SCS900 Survey Controller, Trimble GPS measuring systems and Trimble SPS930 Robotic total station
2. Knowledge of excavation, paving, grading, bridges and heavy-highway practices
3. Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years in Survey
4. Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
5. Candidates must have strong organization/time management skills, the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies, and ability to meet deadlines
6. Must be a self-starter with effective written/verbal communication skills and management skills in both the public and private arenas
7. Highly motivated and self managed to get things done right the first time
8. Strong work ethic - Must be willing to meet deadlines and commit the time needed to get the job completed
9. Candidates must be willing and able to relocate within the United States and Canada, as business opportunities require
10. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States both now & in the future
