Responsibilities
This staff position will assist the Superintendent and/or Project Manager in producing, providing and coordinating all information necessary for the smooth running of the project.
Responsibilities may differ between projects but all will include but are not limited to:
* Assist & Support Superintendent.
* Scheduling/Time cards.
* Operations Planning, monitoring and optimization.
* Work plan development.
* Quantity Control.
* Tracking and management of quantities and daily costs.
* Coordination between engineering and construction activities.
* Participation in daily safety tours and tool box meetings.
* Purchasing/ordering, expediting and coordination of materials.
* Surveying.
* Understand the safety program and local regulation; assit with implementation in the field.
* Contract/Subcontract Administration.
* Perform field observations and testing during construction (earthworks, pile driving, and excavation).
Qualifications
* Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or diploma in Construction Engineering, Civil and/or Mechanical Technology.
* Candidates must possess a strong work ethic.
* Ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications.
* Strong organizational, interpersonal skills.
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.
* Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
* Working knowledge of computers and experience with the use of Microsoft Excel and Word would be beneficial.
* Demonstrate effective organization/time management skills.
* The ability to travel and relocate as required.
